Our school offers a variety of popular sports both during physical education lessons and during the interschool sport seasons.
During the inter-school sport seasons, year 5 and 6 students can elect to participate in a range of sports including hockey, netball, tennis, rugby league, soccer and touch football.
Aitkenvale State School holds a number of annual sporting events including cross-country, swimming, and school athletics carnivals. Many of our students achieve a high standard and advance to higher levels of competition at regional, state and national finals.
'The Orcas' is the school's swimming club. Participation in this free activity will provide your child with extra swimming practice and confidence when competing at the Interschool Swimming Carnival. The focus of the training session is to extend the students' swimming technique, diving and endurance to swim multiple laps. The students involved must be able to swim on their own up to 15 metres. We aim to swim 25 metres in 25 seconds.
