Aitkenvale State School Cross Country 2026

On Wednesday 1st April 2026, we will be holding our Annual Aitkenvale State School Cross Country. This event encourages all students to participate in a fun running activity while earning house points for their sporting house.

Students may also be selected to represent Aitkenvale State School at the Interschool Cross Country on Tuesday 19th May 2026 after school.

Event Details

When: Wednesday 1st April 2026

Where: Back school oval and Illich Park

Who: All students will run inside the school grounds. Students aged 10, 11 and 12 (born 2016, 2015 and 2014) will run part of their course outside the school fence at Illich Park.

Time: Races begin at 9:00am, with races starting every 10 minutes until completed.

Race Distances

8/9 Years: Inside school (Green Course)

10 Years: 1.5km – Green and Blue Course (1 lap green, 1 lap blue)

11/12 Years: 2.5km – Green and Blue Course (2 laps green, 2 laps blue)

Important Reminders

All competitors must wear enclosed running shoes.

Students are encouraged to apply sunscreen before the event or in their sport house tent.

Students must bring their hat and water bottle. All other items should remain in the classroom.

In light rain, the event will proceed. In heavy rain or thunderstorms, the event will be postponed.

Consent is available via the QParents app. Paper copies have also been sent home for families who require them. Please return consent forms as soon as possible.

Families are welcome to come along and support our students as they run for their houses!
